Expected duration: less than 1 week We are an education and access organisation working within British Sign Language (BSL) and deaf services, and we’re seeking an experienced WordPress designer to step in and refine and complete a nearly finished website, with launch planned in 5 days time.
Our current designer is unfortunately on long-term sick leave. The site is approximately 70–80% built, with around 90% of written content already in place. We now need a confident, design-led professional who can elevate, tidy and bring cohesion to the existing structure.
We fully appreciate that many designers prefer to build a website from start to finish themselves. Under normal circumstances we would do the same, however due to the unexpected situation and our launch timeline, we now need someone comfortable stepping into an existing build and bringing it over the finish line.
This is not a full rebuild. It is a refinement and completion project and we welcome thoughtful improvements where appropriate.
About us We work across education, public and private sectors, providing BSL interpreting, communication support, consultancy and training. Visual clarity, accessibility and professionalism are central to our brand. The website must feel lighter, polished, responsive and trustworthy.
Current focus areas:
Correcting desktop and mobile inconsistencies
Lightening the overall aesthetic (currently too dark)
Improving visual cohesion, spacing and alignment
Building one additional page (clear layout guidance provided)
Ensuring strong mobile optimisation

We’re looking for someone who:
Is highly confident in WordPress
Has strong responsive design experience
Can work efficiently within a tight timeline
Is comfortable taking ownership and making considered design decisions
Realistically, this requires a 72 hour turnaround.
