I require front-end coding expertise to refine a responsive submenu design for a client's website. Currently, the mobile navigation functions correctly on the homepage, displaying a "+" icon that expands nested links for "Procedures" sections. However, on interior pages like "breast augmentation" the icon incorrectly changes to an "L" shape. The desired functionality is for the submenu to remain collapsed site-wide, showing only top-level options like "procedures", until the "+" is clicked to expand additional links.
The goal is to design a more intuitive mobile experience where users can efficiently navigate between major sections without superfluous expanded submenus by default. I provided screenshots demonstrating the proper homepage display versus the bug on interior pages, where an expanded "L" icon is shown. The fix likely involves conditional CSS and JavaScript to control the submenu state based on page context. Qualified front-end developers are invited to review details and propose solutions meeting responsibilities of clean, commented code and testing across devices/browsers.
