I am looking for a freelancer to help build a simple, lightweight interactive map dashboard that visualizes public data for a brain health & urban equity project.
Scope: • Use existing NYC zip code-level data on noise, pollution, and cognitive risk factors (I will provide data sources or guidance). • Build an interactive web-based map (example: Mapbox, Leaflet, or basic Google Maps API is fine) — does not need to be complex. • Display basic overlays showing: • Noise levels • Pollution levels • Cognitive risk score (simple calculated index) • Basic hover or click tooltips showing zip code data. • Simple, clear design (no advanced UI needed). • Entire project should stay simple + lightweight, within a budget of $40.
Deliverables: • Working basic map dashboard (hostable on a basic web page or GitHub Pages). • Code files / instructions to run. • Should run on desktop and mobile browsers.
Ideal skills: • Basic experience with interactive maps (Mapbox, Leaflet, or similar). • Basic JavaScript / HTML / CSS. • Ability to deliver a clean, functional simple prototype — this is a non-commercial, civic project, so clarity > complexity.
