Description: |
We’re looking for a designer to create a small number of initial concept sketches for a new logo. This is a paid first phase with the potential for a larger project if we find a direction that fits.
About the Brand: Unscripted Unscripted is a children’s mental wellbeing brand using non-clinical, drama-based methods to support confidence, communication, emotional health, and the freedom to tell your own story.
Our tagline is: “free the narrative.”
The logo should reflect this ethos through clever, symbolic design that tells a story. We're especially drawn to imagery integrated into the word itself, but we’re also open to standalone icon ideas that communicate the brand’s spirit in a subtle and original way.
Project Scope (Phase 1) • 2 to 3 sketch-based concept ideas (hand-drawn, digital sketches or rough mock-ups are fine) • Concepts should explore symbolism, storytelling or hidden meaning • Focus is on a wordmark that tells a story visually, but we’re also open to ideas for standalone or supporting iconography
This is a paid concept stage only. If we find a strong direction, we’ll commission a second phase for final artwork and brand assets.
Creative Direction and Visual Prompts We love logos with hidden meaning and visual storytelling, like those in this collection: https://digitalsynopsis.com/design/clever-creative-logos-hidden-meaning-symbolism
Below are a few initial concepts we’d love to see explored. We’re also very open to your original ideas. If you feel inspired by a different angle, we’d love to see it.
Ideas so far:
• The “I” as a Book Spine Designed as a thick vertical spine. From the top, a page turns into a child mid-leap, suggesting freedom and transformation. Alternative version: just the leaping child without the page.
• Negative Space in the “U” A child with arms lifted in joy is hidden within the “U” using negative space. Could also be developed into a standalone mark.
• The “T” as a Hiding Spot A child peeking from behind the vertical stem of the “T” — playful and subtle.
• The “R” with a Kite Tail The stem of the “R” continues into a gentle, looping kite tail, suggesting movement, childhood and freedom.
• Hand and Heart-Based Icons
A hand with a heart in the centre A hand holding a heart-shaped book These could work as icon variations alongside the wordmark. We’re excited to see how you interpret these, and we’re equally open to original suggestions you feel might suit the brand. Surprise us.
Typography and Colour Direction • Typography: playful, clean and trustworthy — we’re open to creative suggestions • Colour palette: soft pastels such as blues, lavenders and greens |
