Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled researcher to help us gather key information about Private Equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies that align with our target audience for the SmartBRG M&A Insights proposition. The information you provide will help us identify potential clients for our services, which focus on optimizing portfolio company performance through post-M&A integration, international expansion, and revenue growth.
Target Audience Criteria:
Our ideal prospects are mid-market businesses with £10M–£100M annual revenues, often backed by Private Equity firms, and operating across sectors like technology, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, and business services. We particularly seek companies that:
Are undergoing or have recently undergone M&A activity.
Face international growth challenges or channel sales underperformance.
Are led by strategically-minded teams open to data-driven insights.
Research Scope:
We’ve identified five PE firms with portfolio companies that fit our target profile. Your task is to collect specific information for each of these companies, with a focus on Sections C & D of our targeting framework.
Portfolio Companies to Research:
Inflexion: MYCOM OSI, Easyfairs, CNX Therapeutics, European LifeCare, Phenna Group.
Livingbridge: Brainlabs, Adarma, SLR Consulting, North, Efficio.
ECI Partners: Commify, Croud, CSL, Moneypenny.
Bridgepoint Development Capital (BDC): Condatis, DeHavilland, Diagnostiskt Centrum Hud.
North Edge Capital: Jigsaw24, Helios Medical Communications, Cutwel Ltd, CMap.
Information to Gather:
For each PE firm and portfolio company, please provide the following:
Section C: Potential Fit for the 7 Pillars Proposition
Identify whether the company might benefit from our 7 Pillars Insights Framework based on these indicators:
Evidence of post-M&A operational challenges.
Signs of channel sales or market expansion difficulties.
Indications that the company is seeking performance improvements or unlocking team potential.
Section D: Key Questions to Answer
Please answer the following questions for each PE firm and its portfolio companies:
When was the asset acquired? (Provide the acquisition date and duration of ownership.)
How much has the asset grown since acquisition? (Look for revenue, profitability, or market share growth figures.)
Who is the Portfolio Manager responsible for the company? (Include their name, email, and LinkedIn profile if available.)
What recent news or articles are available? (Provide links to any press releases, blog posts, or industry mentions related to the company.)
Research Guidelines:
Use official company websites, PE firm portfolio pages, LinkedIn, and reliable sources like Crunchbase or PitchBook.
Present the findings in a Google Sheets document or excel file, organized by PE firm and then by portfolio company.
Ensure that all contact information is accurate and up-to-date.
Timeline:
Please deliver the initial findings within 5 business days. We can then review and provide feedback if needed.
