Brief description: Get sites using an older version of Joomla to work with current versions of Joomla and PHP, in Kubernetes on Digital Ocean or GKE.
Detail:
We have multiple Joomla sites (each with their own MySQL backup file), which are using Joomla 4.2.6 and PHP 5.6.
We want to host these sites on Kubernetes on Digital Ocean or Google's GKE.
We will provide the existing database backups and other contents of the public_html folder, as well as existing docker-compose.yaml and Dockerfile.
Desired output:
YAML files and all instructions needed to run these from scratch to load these into an existing Kubernetes cluster on Digital Ocean or GKE. This means you will have to get everything set up on your own instance, export all files needed to duplicate the setup, then document/script the use of these files so the process can be repeated.
The Joomla sites do use various plugins, such as RSS retrieval. If these are broken or incompatible with current versions of Joomla, it is fine to replace them with a more modern, well-regarded alternative.
